A Study on Strongyloidiasis in Korea

Abstract
This study was presented on morphology of S, stercoralis adult worm in human body. Worms were obtained from small intestines of cadavers (criminal autopsy cases) and were identified apply the Point-Fixed method after Faust(1932) and Feng(1933)..
This paper is the first report on adult worm of S. stercoralis found in human body in Korea. It is also recommanded to be accurate in the identification and diagnosis of morphology because there is a difference between the obtained results and the other references.
The morphological characteristics of worms are summarized as follows ;
1 : Male worms are 9.90-10.40mm in¢¥ length, a (1/w) : 2 .34-25.85, ,a(1/eso.) : 8.6110. 97, r (1/t) : 7.33-21.67, esophagus : 1.01-1.15mm, tail : 0.55 -1.35mm, mouth cavity 0.01-0.25mm, anterior spicule : 0.54-1.0mm and poterior spicule : 1.84-2.25mm long.
2 . Femalel worms are 9.20 - 10. 10mm in length, a (1/w) : 22.36 - 23. 82, fi (1/eso.) 9.90 - 10. 45, r (1/t) : 11.48-12.60, mouth cavity : 0.01-0.02mm, esophagus : 0.88-1.02mm long and vulva : 4.18-4.47mm posterior to the mouth.
